[ Oh, look! A new video entry. It starts up and it's… upside down. Actually it's more like the picture is twirling, so even though it starts upside down it's slowly turning until it's right-side up for a moment, revealing a teenage girl staring at it suspiciously before the slow spinning starts up again as she turns the journal around in her hands. ]

If this really is a camera it's the smallest one I've ever seen. [ She finally comments, stopping the spinning so that she is sideways on the screen. ] And what good is it even supposed to do, anyway?! Is this some kind of mover thing? Can anyone see me? Can anyone-

[ The video suddenly freezes as if she'd paused it, then starts up again. ] -like I'm talking to a book. Great. I get kidnapped or lost or whatever and I'm talking to a book. This is just- [ It pauses for a few seconds again. ] -I can't believe- [ Pause. ] -who even- [ Pause. Finally after what seems like a longer pause the video finally starts playing again and Korra is finally facing the right way with the camera. She looks pretty panicked. ]

Okay, this book is weird. It started talking to me and there's all sorts of writing but why do I even have this? Who even are you people writing in here? This is ridiculous. I'm leaving. ...As soon as I find the exit.

[ Korra's managed to find her way to the actual village now, still wearing the white shirt and pants she arrived in but a little more focused and less panicked. This wasn't the weirdest thing that's ever happened to her after all! Well, it probably wasn't anyway, but she wasn't about to sit around comparing them. She'd woken up in a forest with a weird book and nothing else, not even her own clothing let alone an explanation. Flipping through the pages of the book had given her a few details (although not as many as there could have been considering she wasn't exactly patient enough to sit around and read thoroughly at the moment) but really the BEST way to figure something out was to get up and out and see what it was with your own eyes.

Sometimes, anyway.

Seeing buildings had been a huge relief but the closer she got to them the more she found herself pausing. Of course part of her wanted to run right in and start demanding answers. The biggest part, really. But there was another, much smaller part that was telling her to be cautious and patient about the situation to avoid doing anything reckless.

That part sounded an awful lot like Tenzin.

Sure, she wasn't the best at taking his advice back home but in this situation she had to grudgingly admit that maybe she should at least start out cautious. Which is why she's now slowly peeking around a building, one hand against the wall and the other held up as if expecting a fight at any second- ]

You did? [ This isn't the first she's heard that she was here already, but every time it just sounds weirder and weirder to her. ] I'm sorry. I don't remember.

[ At the second question she laughs- probably not the appropriate response, but she can't help it. ] What? No, not that I know! Actually that's part of why it's so weird, knowing that there's an older you walking around back home.

It's fine.

[But its weird, because Korra had remembered him then, and now the roles seemed to be a bit reversed. Oh well, he hadn't really gotten a chance to know her well before she left anyway. Zuko now scratches his head.]

Oh.

[Yeah this whole time thing is really weird. At least he's not dead. But if Korra is the Avatar then, that does mean he outlived Aang. And he's not sure how to feel about that.]

[ He doesn't seem to be taking that as well as she might have thought, so she scrambles for something to say to try and make it a little less awkward. ]

Hey, you asked! But I won't tell you anything else if you don't want to. Like, the fact that the newest Earth Kingdom ruler is a badgermole, or the secret civilization of noodlebenders that we found.

[And now Zuko folds his arms.]

Right.

[Cause he doesn't believe that for a minute. But maybe it is better if he just... didn't know everything.]

[ She shrugs, clearing thinking something along the lines of "I tried." ]

No more future secrets from me. But it is still really cool to meet you. Uh, re-meet you? The more I think about how this time thing is suppose to work, the less it actually makes sense.

Uh... it's good to meet you too. Again.

[This is just so weird.]

I don't get it either. Just... don't call me Hotlord.

Call you what? [ Her face is torn between confusion and amusement. ]

I can honestly say I wasn't planning on it. Is that something people call you often?

Uh... no. Nevermind.

[She had actually called him that the last time she was here. How about a subject change.]

So... you're the Avatar. A Avatar... from the future.

[Smooth.]

It's too late now. Every time I look at you I'm just going to remember "Hotlord." [ She shakes her head. Really, Zuko brought that on himself. ]

But yeah, that's me. Avatar Korra. Hey, just how far back from the past are you anyway? I shouldn't be worried, right? [ Although she's grinning like she already knows the answer. ]

[Zuko sighs and pinches his nose. He walked right into that one, didn't he? He then frowns and folds his arms a bit indignantly.]

I'm from almost two years after the end of the water.

Wow. Still a long time ago, for me. But at least I don't have to worry about you chasing me around.

[ She tilts her head a little, watching all the nose pinching and the sighs with a slight laugh. ]

Hey, I'm not bothering you, am I? Not interrupting anything? Whatever it is you guys do around here, anyway.

No. I was on my way back to the house. ... Have you been there yet?

[Cause if she hasn't, he should probably show her how to get there.]

The house? What house?

[ And just in case that didn't answer the question, she shakes her head. ] I don't think so. Mostly I've just been… [ SNEAKING AROUND RANDOM BUILDINGS. Sometimes running into someone she knows. } …busy. [ Smooth. She doesn't look suspicious at all. ]

The house we all live in.

[He takes that as a no. Thus Zuko starts walking again and motions for Korra to follow.]

You all live together in the same house?

[ That sounded… interesting. Still, she follows along after him. ]

Must be pretty big.

Yeah, there's plenty of room. The boys stay on the top floor, and the girls on the bottom floor.

Sounds so... organized.

[ She can't help but laugh. Even in this weird place, they were worried about separate floors. ]

Sounds like Air Temple Island.

Air Temple, what?

[Jinora might have mentioned it once, but Zuko hasn't actually heard an explanation about it.]

Air Temple Island. I guess it doesn't exist for you yet.

[ Which sounded just as weird as she expected it to. ]

It's where I live- [ AWKWARD AND SUDDEN STOP. ] -lived. I used to live there. They had girls and boys sides, too. [ Smooth save, Korra. ]

It's an Airbender thing. Aang probably made it that way before we ever got here.

[Zuko also pauses, his gaze a bit more curious now as he looks at her.]

So I guess that's where all the Airbenders live?

We-eell some of them live there. Aang's son and grandchildren. I lived there too while I was learning, but somebody decided that it was best if I leave. [ And she glares to her left at nothing, as if imagining President Raiko right there. ]

But now most of the airbenders are at the Northern Air Temple, training. They've kinda been popping up all over the world but we've been trying to recruit them.

[Zuko listens, but its that last bit that causes him to look at her in surprise.]

What? Really? There's more airbenders? How is that possible?

[That should be impossible. The Air Nomads went extinct after all, with the exception of Aang and then his family.]

Oh- I keep forgetting not everyone knows these things. [ She really had to learn to watch her mouth. Making a humming noise as she thinks how best to put this, she shrugs. ]

See, what happened is… I'm actually not sure how it's possible at all. I opened some portals to the Spirit World and some other things happened and then non-benders all over the world just started airbending. [ And she can't help but show her excitement, here. Airbenders! Korra didn't think she was ever going to get over it. ]
