☾ FIRST [video/action]

[ Oh, look! A new video entry. It starts up and it's… upside down. Actually it's more like the picture is twirling, so even though it starts upside down it's slowly turning until it's right-side up for a moment, revealing a teenage girl staring at it suspiciously before the slow spinning starts up again as she turns the journal around in her hands. ]
If this really is a camera it's the smallest one I've ever seen. [ She finally comments, stopping the spinning so that she is sideways on the screen. ] And what good is it even supposed to do, anyway?! Is this some kind of mover thing? Can anyone see me? Can anyone-
[ The video suddenly freezes as if she'd paused it, then starts up again. ] -like I'm talking to a book. Great. I get kidnapped or lost or whatever and I'm talking to a book. This is just- [ It pauses for a few seconds again. ] -I can't believe- [ Pause. ] -who even- [ Pause. Finally after what seems like a longer pause the video finally starts playing again and Korra is finally facing the right way with the camera. She looks pretty panicked. ]
Okay, this book is weird. It started talking to me and there's all sorts of writing but why do I even have this? Who even are you people writing in here? This is ridiculous. I'm leaving. ...As soon as I find the exit.

[ Korra's managed to find her way to the actual village now, still wearing the white shirt and pants she arrived in but a little more focused and less panicked. This wasn't the weirdest thing that's ever happened to her after all! Well, it probably wasn't anyway, but she wasn't about to sit around comparing them. She'd woken up in a forest with a weird book and nothing else, not even her own clothing let alone an explanation. Flipping through the pages of the book had given her a few details (although not as many as there could have been considering she wasn't exactly patient enough to sit around and read thoroughly at the moment) but really the BEST way to figure something out was to get up and out and see what it was with your own eyes.
Sometimes, anyway.
Seeing buildings had been a huge relief but the closer she got to them the more she found herself pausing. Of course part of her wanted to run right in and start demanding answers. The biggest part, really. But there was another, much smaller part that was telling her to be cautious and patient about the situation to avoid doing anything reckless.
That part sounded an awful lot like Tenzin.
Sure, she wasn't the best at taking his advice back home but in this situation she had to grudgingly admit that maybe she should at least start out cautious. Which is why she's now slowly peeking around a building, one hand against the wall and the other held up as if expecting a fight at any second- ]

Yeah, he's going to drag her into the bakery. There is a 99% chance this is the most hand holding he has ever done with a girl in his entire life.]

[ She's looking PRETTY SUSPICIOUS suddenly. Not at Wan but at the mysterious food and building in general as she gets dragged in. ] Is it safe? It's kind of weird how there are so many shops around here. [ It hasn't come up in her training but she feels like eating food found in a mystery location after being forcibly taken there might be something to be cautious about. ]

[And he is going to take a fruit pie because they are his favorite things in the bakery and he hasn't stolen one before it could even make it to the bakery in awhile.]
Besides they're not really shops, everything here is free.
[Isn't it great? Hands down his favorite thing about luceti (sorry friends).]

It does look really good… And it's free? You mean actually free, and not just free because we're not paying for it, right? [ The fact that the food might be free sounded even more suspicious, but she was really hungry and those fruit pies looked so good… Oh, whatever. How could things possibly get any worse? She ends her staredown of the pies by grabbing a red one and tearing into it. ]

[He says, before eating his own pie. He could have bothered explaining that if she had any money it's gone but he never had any money to begin with so he wouldn't really know this. Also it's pie time.]

[translation: he'd totally steal food anyways, not that this is something Korra doesn't know already.]

I can see why, they're seriously amazing. And that's not just the fact that I don't know how long it's been since I've eaten talking. [ Now she's taking the chance to look around at the rest of the selection. ] I can't believe they take the time to- what, kidnap us? And then they bake us cakes and pies.

[He would know. RIP: all of the baked goods that never actually made it to the bakery.]

[ She gives Wan a careful look. ] So you uh, know Aang?

[His voice softens when he says that, because living with a "family" and eating as much food as you want and getting to sleep on an actual bed... all of it was really great. Even if he got into trouble sometimes.
But now he is curious: Korra is asking like she already knows him...]

Yeah, I know him. He's from my world. Actually, he's probably mentioned that he's the Avatar, right?
[ And here is where she tries her hardest not to look at him strangely while she tries to gauge his response. ]

[Wan may feel just a tiny bit smug about living and being friends with a legendary guy like that.
He's seen the avatar state in action too! It involved glowing and a weird feminine voice telling him they would meet in the future. Though he was kind of out of it at the time. Maybe it was a dream.]

Great! That's a good start. Then you might already know that every time the Avatar dies, they're reincarnated into a new life. So, in the cycle of Avatars, after Aang comes... me. I guess you could say that's how I know him.
