[ Oh, look! A new video entry. It starts up and it's… upside down. Actually it's more like the picture is twirling, so even though it starts upside down it's slowly turning until it's right-side up for a moment, revealing a teenage girl staring at it suspiciously before the slow spinning starts up again as she turns the journal around in her hands. ]

If this really is a camera it's the smallest one I've ever seen. [ She finally comments, stopping the spinning so that she is sideways on the screen. ] And what good is it even supposed to do, anyway?! Is this some kind of mover thing? Can anyone see me? Can anyone-

[ The video suddenly freezes as if she'd paused it, then starts up again. ] -like I'm talking to a book. Great. I get kidnapped or lost or whatever and I'm talking to a book. This is just- [ It pauses for a few seconds again. ] -I can't believe- [ Pause. ] -who even- [ Pause. Finally after what seems like a longer pause the video finally starts playing again and Korra is finally facing the right way with the camera. She looks pretty panicked. ]

Okay, this book is weird. It started talking to me and there's all sorts of writing but why do I even have this? Who even are you people writing in here? This is ridiculous. I'm leaving. ...As soon as I find the exit.

[ Korra's managed to find her way to the actual village now, still wearing the white shirt and pants she arrived in but a little more focused and less panicked. This wasn't the weirdest thing that's ever happened to her after all! Well, it probably wasn't anyway, but she wasn't about to sit around comparing them. She'd woken up in a forest with a weird book and nothing else, not even her own clothing let alone an explanation. Flipping through the pages of the book had given her a few details (although not as many as there could have been considering she wasn't exactly patient enough to sit around and read thoroughly at the moment) but really the BEST way to figure something out was to get up and out and see what it was with your own eyes.

Sometimes, anyway.

Seeing buildings had been a huge relief but the closer she got to them the more she found herself pausing. Of course part of her wanted to run right in and start demanding answers. The biggest part, really. But there was another, much smaller part that was telling her to be cautious and patient about the situation to avoid doing anything reckless.

That part sounded an awful lot like Tenzin.

Sure, she wasn't the best at taking his advice back home but in this situation she had to grudgingly admit that maybe she should at least start out cautious. Which is why she's now slowly peeking around a building, one hand against the wall and the other held up as if expecting a fight at any second- ]

[Admittedly, Sokka is pleased as punch that Korra is laughing at his Wang Fire persona. His smile is broad, and he is clearly enjoying this so much.]

You're future Aang!? That's so awesome! [And his smile disappears fast, suddenly contemplating the ramifications of that.] And... really weird. How can there even be two Avatars here at the same time? How does that even work? [Whatever. Luceti is weird.] So... you're Water Tribe then?

And yeah. Though Jinora's still here. And... I guess so? I mean, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Apparently I got dragged here to Luceti once before, though I don't remember any of it, but Katara, Aang, Toph, Zuko... none of them seemed to think I was ever missing. [He shrugs though; figuring out the logistics of this place was still crazy talk really.]

Future Aang. [ Probably the first time she's been called that in so many words, BUT ] Pretty much, I guess? And you're Past Sokka. Glad we're all cleared up on that. [ Maybe this wasn't AS awkward as she thought! At least, until she thinks about the next question. ]

Here the thing about there being more than one Avatar at once. [ A pause. ] The thing is there is no thing, I've actually got no idea how that could work. We've got the same Avatar Spirit so really there… couldn't be more than one of us at a time. [ She looks, naturally, EXTREMELY CONFUSED about all of this. But thankfully she has something to reach out and grab, something she can definitely answer. ]

Yeah! Southern Water Tribe, as a matter of fact. [ She crosses her arms, looking pretty pleased with herself about it. ] Oh, man, I wish you could see the place now. It's amazing. [ Katara had told her stories of what the Southern Tribe once was during the war. It was always so hard for Korra to imagine. And, well, Sokka WOULD see it someday. Maybe? If he ever got out of here? The whole timelines thing was really throwing her off. She nods as she thinks about his last words. ]

So… no one will know we're gone.

Sounds like we're all cleared up.

[Sokka puts the Wang Fire beard away since, clearly, there was no more need of that. Well, for now. Wang Fire is always waiting. Always waiting.]

Southern Water Tribe, really? Southerners represent! [The Avatar came from them instead of the stodgy Northerners? That would make Grampakku throw a fit, especially since it's a girl. But still, the Water Tribe pride runs strong.] And it's good to know that it ends up picking back up to how things were before. Come to think of it, I haven't been back home in a long time. Pretty much haven't been able to visit it since we left Aang, what, two... two and half years ago?

[ Bye, beard! Without it Sokka's youth is even more noticeable; Korra can't help but grin. She wished Katara was here to see it. Not just the Katara that was actually here, but the older on back home who had sadly spoken to her about her brother being gone. ]

That's right! [ She nods enthusiastically at his Southern Tribe Pride. ] And… two and a half years. That's a long time. You could always go back and visit, even for a little bit. [ Uh, wait. She tries to backtrack. ] Uh, I mean! Once we get out of here! Obviously you can't… visit it… right now.

Well, yeah, of course. After we get out of here. Katara and I have always talked about it, but something always seems to crop up between here and there.

But being away so long is weird; I'm definitely not used to the cold like I used to be. I'm so much more used to the Earth Kingdom and the Fire Nation since that seems to be where we spend all of our time, either with Zuko, Toph, Suki, or Aang.

[ As far as things always coming up, Korra gives a dramatic sigh. ] Tell me about it. No matter what time, Team Avatar is always busy, huh?

I know what you mean about the cold- Even though I wasn't gone as long as you were I was gone for a few months and when I got back… You really noticed it. But I'm sure you'll get used to it again.

[Time to get completely sidetracked. Because Sokka.]

You have your own Team Avatar too!? [Okay, Sokka is just a little bit giddy about her saying that.] That's what I named us when we were putting a stop to the Fire Nation! That's so awesome you're still calling it the same thing!

Of course I do! My friend Bolin actually called us "The New Team Avatar." [ She smiles fondly at the memory of her friends cheering her up with it when she was feeling alone and helpless. ] Every Avatar needs a team. And your naming skills are legendary.

Yeah, I kinda have a knack for naming things. [Foo Foo Cuddlypoops, anyone? Sparky Sparky Boom Man, am I right?] It's good to know you've got a group of guys behind you. Hey, one of them wouldn't be... oh what's his name? Vashu? Virruk? VARRICK! Granted, not like I ever really met him—or knew anything about him for that matter—but he was supposedly here once upon a time.

I do! I'm really lucky to have them. [ All of them. Tenzin, his family, Mako, Bolin, Asami, and- ] Varrick?

[ Aw, man. That totally ruined the good memory, there. ]

He was here? If it's the same Varrick I know, you should be glad you never met him.

[Oh. Maybe that's why.]

Well, I can't say I know all that many people named Varrick. It's not exactly a name that rolls off the tongue. Why, what'd he do to you?

The better question would be what didn't he do. [ She gives a little annoyed "huff." ]

Let's see, he encouraged a war so he could get money off of it, stole from my friend's company, got my other friend arrested… [ She's listing these off on her fingers, now. ] I mean… he's helped us some too, but you're better off just not getting involved.

[video] Sokka does the counting fingers things too XD

Yeaaah, on second thought, let's just forget that what's-his-face was even here. That sounds like a much better plan.

Sounds like a great plan.

[ But the more she thinks about it the more she has to ignore the plan, if only for a second. ] That is, as long as he wasn't trying to invent or sell something while he was here.

Hey, don't look at me! I never met the guy. Aang made it seem like they didn't have much to do with him. And he never lived in Avatar House so...

[He shrugs dramatically.]

That's a relief. Because then we might not be sure he's gone- he might just be hiding in a stuffed platypus bear. [ AGAIN. ]

You don't have any stuffed platypus bears lying around, do you?

[video] Oh I am so glad you brought this up. *sob*

No, no stuffed platypus bears anywhere here that I've seen. Or even real platypus bears anywhere.

But you know what they do have here? Bears! Just bears! Can you believe it!?

[THIS PLACE IS SO WEIRD. SO. WEIRD.]

[ She has the most disbelieving look on her face right now. ]

That's impossible, there's only been one "bear"-bear like, ever. And it wasn't even in this world!

Yeaah, but no. That's what I said too when Zuko and I found it in the forest. He'll vouch for me! I went up to it thinking it would be friendly like Bosco.

And then everything changed when the bear attacked us.

You AND Zuko got attacked. By a "bear."

[ She's just shaking her head, now. Shaking it slowly and dramatically. ] Bosco… was that his name? Wasn't he living in, oh I don't know, a cushy palace? The animal you walked up to was raised in these woods] .

[ a pause. ] Unless it too was taken from it's home world against it's will.

[Sokka hears that sarcasm in Korra's voice. He is a sarcasmbender, and he knows you don't believe him.]

Yes, a bear. The journals record—

[Does he really really want to link to that? Probably one of the more embarrassing moments of his life. And there are quite a few to choose from. He stops, thinks for a little bit, but in the end he decides he'll just skip that part.]

Okay, seriously, there's tons of animals in the woods, and none of them are like the animals of our world. There's just rabbits, just foxes, just deer. I'll show you if you don't believe me.

But wait, you know about the Earth King's bear too? Whatever happened to it? I bet some vicious creature came along and made a nice snack of it; that thing had no natural instincts whatsoever!

I don't know what happened to him. I just heard about him in the stories I used to hear. But wait- how do you know what a BEAR'S natural instincts are supposed to be? [ Because there's only ONE, SOKKA. What were you comparing him to?! ]

I didn't see any animals in the woods. [ Probably because she was being pretty loud as she called out for people she knew and walked around confused. ] I might need to see some real life "just" animals to actually believe it.

[Sokka is pretty emphatic now, doing anything he can to justify his terrible, terrible decision.]

Well I obviously didn't know what they were! But I figured it was sensible and reasonable to assume that animals tend to act like every other animal like it!

[Finally, he just lowers his head, shrugging it off.]

Well just you wait until they start talking to you as well. You'll love that.

You can't go thinking that way about animals. You'll miss out on some good friends [ Like Naga, first tamed polarbeardog EVER ] or… you know, get attacked.

[ As far as them talking, Korra lets out a laugh. ]

Talking? Are you kidding? Animals don't talk. [ And that's when inspiration hits. ] Wait! I've got it. Are you sure this place isn't just full of spirits? Maybe that's why they're only parts of animals, and can "talk." [ Although she doesn't sound like she's very convinced about the talking part yet. ]

Believe me, there are some animals out there I don't want to be super close cuddly friends with. Their idea of happy happy fun time differs from mine.

[Sokka scratches his head with the talk about the spirits.]

Look, I don't know about any of these spirit things. I mean, sure, Aang and us saw them as we were traveling. But Iiiii... don't think it's spirits. I mean, that'd just be weird.

But hey, don't believe me that the animals aren't talking. Just you wait until you find your first critter out there. There's an "I told you so" ready for you.
